2nd ‘Día del Ceviche’ in Las Condes – May 2-3
It’s that time of the year again to honor Peruvian cuisine with all the flavors of the sea. This weekend, May 2-3, the culinary event Día del Ceviche will take place at the “Centro Parque” of Parque Araucano.
Being its second year as a food festival, this year it will feature dish preparations created by some of the most renowned Peruvian cevicheros from Lima. With over 15 exhibitors, tastings, an interactive kitchen, colorful music stage, tons of Peruvian food offerings and a culinary competition naming the “Best Ceviche”, this is an occasion to visit Peru during the long weekend without having to leave Santiago.
The event takes place at the convention center “Centro Parque” in Parque Araucano, one of the most modern in Latin America. “In addition to being an attractive space, it houses all the ideal conditions to welcome the public. We chose the Centro Parque because of its wonderful atmosphere for events of this level,” says Fabiola Ortiz, Director of “el Día del Ceviche’’.
The competition will continue its tradition of naming the “Best Traditional Ceviche” and the “Best Ceviche by Chef”. The Directing Judge of the competition is Chef Marco Antonio Chaves, General Manager of Maco who will stand before a jury composed of Hugo Fernando Rueda, corporate Chef of Other Sire and Peru Criollo restaurants and a fish and seafood expert. Raul Esteban Yañes, food critic for T13 and gastronomicas.cl, will also be there along with David Morante, Organizer of the annual event Peru Gourmet. There will be three additional guest judges chosen from social media and the audience.
