Food Fests this Weekend in Santiago
A perfect weekend for foodies in Santiago, there are a couple festivities going on around town that you can’t miss. The only problem is choosing which event to attend! If you want to discover new eateries and try new dishes, here’s where you need to be this weekend:
Gourmet in Barrio Italia
Barrio Italia will inaugurate the 1st Coffee and Tea and Gourmet Fair in Patio Avenida Italia on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 from 11am to 8pm featuring live music, tastings, and tons of gourmet products to take home with you.
Additionally, two Coffee and Tea Routes will simultaneously where you can stroll through the Barrio while sampling, learning, and discovering some of the best goodies it has to offer.
In anticipation for the main event, Andes Wines (the second image) began their route last week, and you can start today! Held at a different cafe during each day, sign up to be part of the small group to explore different coffee and tea preparations, decorative cappuccino art, and the iconic countries growing the best coffee beans.
Food Trucks in the Park
A more recent addition and growing culinary feature in Santiago are food trucks. From tacos to gourmet sandwiches and freshly squeezed juices, Santiago formally introduces food trucks to Chile with during Entre Reudas. Catch live performances, and get your hands on some quick eats at one of the 25 food trucks from different cities in Chile will take over the park, including local favorites like Kombinala, Hogs, Soul Kitchen, and Grosso.
Peruvian Independence and Food Fests
You don’t have to wait until September to celebrate las fiestas patrias in Chile. As the Peruvian community celebrates their national holiday this weekend, they bring their cultural festivities to you at two locations so you can’t miss it! Immerse yourself in Peruvian cuisine, traditional and regional dancing, live performances, and a pisco sour or two. Both Perú Pasión and Perú Gourmet are hosting three day events in Parque Padre Hurtado and Parque Quinta Normal respectively.

How can we talk so much about food and not mention wine? It hasn’t left the picture as La CAV rolls in their fourth wine expo from July 31 to August 2 at Espacio Riesco. Over 40 Chilean wineries will bring their best varieties, gourmet products, and all things wine to the table. Raise a glass and may the tastings begin!
